A Time For Completion – Day 4
Well, I am off to a late start with the Day 4 report, but I did not feel led this morning to write it, and now I cannt even remember what was happening earlier today! That is just how it is sometimes when the Spirit is flowing.
Today was productive indeed! I swear, it would be less exhausting to run four miles than to write 4,000 words. When I completed the chapter I was working on today, I felt like I had been hit by a train, but in a good way. Now, it is only 7 PM, and I am ready for bed!! I will instead choose to study and prepare for tomorrow. There is so much research tied up with this book. And with the goal of bringing God glory in all I write, there is only a little pressure!!
My energy began to drop this afternnon around 1 PM. I knew it was not an option to stop since my prayer partner and spiritual sister was coming to study and pray with me at 3. I wanted to finish the chapter before her arrival. The Lord led me to the piano which was once my safe haven and now is a stranger I once knew. I sat down at my old friend (my grandmother purchased this piano for me when I was a small child) and carressed her keys. She is a bit out of tune, and my fingers have forgotten where to go, but God put a song in my heart, and I worshiped Him like never before. He inhabits the praises of His people even when our songs are not perfect and our voices crack. He just loves it when we are honest before Him, and honest I was. In my favorite key of D, I wrote “Lord, I don’t know where I’m going. But I do know where I’ve been. And I’m not going back, to that same old prison. I want to stay with You, my Lord.” That was it, but I sang it over and over. I swear I could hear the angels singing. It was an amazing time. I do not know how long I sat there singing. I do not even remember returning to my office. All I remember is writing like a crazy person, looking at the clock, and realizing it was already 3:00 and I had just completed the chapter. God is so good.
My prayer is to finish two more chapters tomorrw, so that by Monday, I will be ready to hit “the final four”. I am still stuck on the chapter from yesterday, but I feel it will come together when the rest of the book is complete.
I am excited to see what God has for me tomorrow. You just never know with Him!!
