“Let not your heart be troubled”. This has been an impossibility for me lately. My heart is breaking for the things that break His.
There is a great distortion of the Word of God in our communities, many of our churches and throughout our country. The God of love seems to be the only godly characteristic we hear about. That is much like a person looking at me and seeing me only as a health nut.Yes, I am a health nut, but I am also disciplined, educated, funny, …

Is it possible to live a life free of fear and full of faith in the world we live in today? Can you walk as Abraham did for 24 years as he waited on the Lord in full faith for God to fulfill His promise? The Bible says that Abraham did not waiver in his faith, but instead, he trusted God step by step.

Some may think procrastination is a sign of laziness. I guess for some it is, but for me, it has never represented laziness. For me, procrastination is simply a sign that I am intimidated by what needs to be done. It is a sure sign that I have no faith in my ability to accomplish what needs to be accomplished, and if I could, I would run very far, very fast. I am sure, if you got to the root of procrastination with most people, you would find the same …

The absence of information is one of the conditions that fosters panic because fear arises from matters people do not understand. We need to be informed. One of the greatest challenges we have today is that people are either uninformed or not informed properly. I had a heart breaking moment one day. I found old videos of my kids when they were small. Oh, how fast they change and grow. I watched with a bit of bewilderment because these precious videos were taken during what I call my “sick years”. These were the four years leading up to my diagnosis of Celiac disease. I had absolutely no recollection of the events I was watching. I sounded happy. The kids looked happy and content, but where are the joyful memories of the moments we shared? …

And yet, even I have times that I feel completely, unabashedly, without question, PATHETIC! Lately, I feel I have mastered this skill, and I am ready to move on. I thought it may help my readers if I shared my humiliation and education with you, so that maybe you too will be able to buck up and stop wallowing in a place that leads only to …

As a child, I loved spending time with my grandmother. It was such a great blessing to have her living right across the street from us as I grew up. My grandmother had a great influence on my life and still does today as she continues to be the incredible woman of God I have always known her to be. I often wonder where I would be today if it had not been for her.
One of my favorite memories growing up was picking berries from her yard. …

Have you ever wanted to know why some people are easy to follow and others are not? Wonder why your team isn’t devoted to you, and why they don’t see you as a leader? Funny how most people think that a great leader is someone who can walk into a room, take control and make others accomplish what they want to have done. Although this kind of leadership may work for a time, it will not build and sustain most organizations. A true leader is one that is a servant.
I …
