Reading is like singing to me. I do not remember a time I have not done either one. Although there have been seasons when they were lacking, my life has been most fulfilling when they were present.
I have never been one who enjoyed being instructed on what to read (i.e.- school). But that fact aside, I am an avid reader. You may even say I am a voracious one to be more exact. If I have invested in anything to a great extent, I have invested in books and …

I remember the first time I heard Pastor Kim Ryan from North County Christ the King preach. Conviction oozed from him as he led his congregation through the touchy subject of abortion. By the end of the evening, the entire assembly was on their knees in repentance for the nation. It was  a powerful service. One my husband and I will never forget.
We have never lived close enough to Pastor Kim to be an active part of his church or to be able to benefit from his excellent …

Do you have a dream waiting to be birthed?
Have you been putting your destiny on the back burner?
Is your business or ministry becoming stagnant?
Is the fear of lack holding you back?
If so, you are not alone.  Every day, everywhere dreams are dying, destinies are destroyed and businesses and ministries are declining simply because of financial needs.  Everything seems to cost something.  There are generally two approaches to fixing this problem.  First we whine and complain about not having the money we need to accomplish the task.  Or we do what …

Do you have a dream which has not been fulfilled?
Is there a vision you have received from the Lord which has not come to pass?
Are you ready to quit and walk away from God’s perfect will for you?
Before you do, read this.  I want to encourage you to keep believing, not in the dream or vision, but in the One who planted it in you before the beginning of time!
I have a big vision, and  I am a big thinker.  In many ways this is a blessing from God, but …

I was blessed when I was first married to receive a special gift from my mother.  It was a pitcher and basin set which had been her grandmothers.  My mother had carried that set around  with her for years.  She had protected it and kept it safe in a house full of rambunctious brothers.  It had survived several moves throughout her adulthood.  It even endured as she raised three daughters of her own.  I am sure she often thought about how she would pass on this special set to one …

I was excited to read and review Fearless by Max Lucado.  Maybe it is because I am a fan of Mr. Lucado’s, or it may be more because of the fact that I have just finished writing a book on fear myself.  I already knew he stole the title I was going to use (just kidding), but I wanted to know that our books were not only different, but both valuable to the reader.  I was pleased with what I found.
As usual, Max Lucado draws in his readers …

Some may think procrastination is a sign of laziness.  I guess for some it is, but for me, it has never represented laziness.  For me, procrastination is simply a sign that I am intimidated by what needs to be done.  It is a sure sign that I have no faith in my ability to accomplish what needs to be accomplished, and if I could, I would run very far, very fast.  I am sure, if you got to the root of procrastination with most people, you would find the same …

Have you ever wanted to know why some people are easy to follow and others are not?  Wonder why your team isn’t devoted to you, and why they don’t see you as a leader? Funny how most people think that a great leader is someone who can walk into a room, take control and make others accomplish what they want to have done.  Although this kind of leadership may work for a time, it will not build and sustain most organizations.  A true leader is one that is a servant.
I …

I have always loved to journal.  I got more serious about it when we made a decision to start a family.  I wanted to write to my children, so they would know how much they were wanted, what we went through during their young lives and so they would see a side of me that most children never take time to look at in their mothers.  Through the years, I have chronicled my failures as a wife and mother, my hurts, the life lessons I have learned and my love …

Men, you want to bless your wives?  D o you want to be the sexiest man she knows no matter how old you grow?  Then brace yourselves.  You may be surprised by what you read.
It is not in the jewels or flowers (although do not forget those tokens of love) that your wife will find her adoration of you.  It is in your reverence of God and to God that you will draw you into her heart.  There is nothing as attractive as a warrior of the Most High God …
