“Farmers Dream Plowed Under”

22 September 2009 One Comment

Recently, the Sean Hannity Show featured the plight of the farmers in the San Joaquin Valley. As I watched the program and listened to the stories, I could not help but to think of a song my husband wrote in the 1980′s titled “Farmers Dream Plowed Under” which simply depicts the agony our farmers in the US are experiencing. These men and woman who provide us with sustenance to live are suffering at the hands of the government and those who are more concerned with the extinction of animals and fish than about their fellow human race.
Water has been cut off from the farmers in California for the sake of a two inch minnow causing the fields to dry up and creating a dust bowl like we have never seen in our lifetimes. It made me think of my spiritual life. When I am cut off from the water of life, I become parched and dry. I produce nothing but bitterness and death. Hope of anything good is gone, and I am left with an unquenchable thirst that can only be satisfied with living water.
Today, pray for the farmers not just in California, but all over this great land of ours. Pray for the leaders of our country, that they may learn the importance of defending those that happily work, provide jobs and feed the masses. And keep your garden watered by the well spring of life, so that you will not be living in a barren waste land.
Do it today. Your destiny is waiting.

I was not aware of this. A world famine could be triggered by something like this. Thank you for alerting me to this problem in California. Bob
